Baked Salmon (cooked in turbo broiler)

Salmon is a flavorful, rich fish with a slightly sweet, savory taste. Its texture is tender, moist, and flaky, with a slightly firm yet buttery feel when properly cooked. The flesh ranges from a deep pink to a vibrant orange, often with marbling of fat, which contributes to its moistness. Salmon can be cooked in various ways, including grilling, baking, broiling, or pan-searing. It’s important to cook it until just opaque in the center, as overcooking can make it dry. For optimal flavor, season with herbs, lemon, or spices to enhance its natural richness without overpowering it.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 pound salmon filet
  • juice of 1/2 a small lemon or Calamansi
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil / 1 teaspoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • freshly ground pepper to taste

Baked salmon fillets are another easy and delicious way to enjoy this nutritious fish.

To prepare, start with half a pound of fresh salmon fillet. Squeeze the juice of half a small lemon or Calamansi over the fish to add a fresh, tangy flavor.

Next, drizzle a teaspoon of olive oil or melt a teaspoon of butter over the fillet to keep it moist while it bakes.

Sprinkle a teaspoon of dried thyme for a subtle, fragrant herb flavor that pairs perfectly with salmon.

Add a pinch of salt (about 1/8 teaspoon) to enhance the taste, and freshly ground pepper to taste for a bit of heat and depth.

Once all the ingredients are added, place the salmon on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or lightly greased.

Bake the fillets at 375°F for about 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is tender and easily flakes with a fork. The result is a flavorful, moist, and perfectly seasoned dish that can be served with your favorite side dish.

Whether for a quick weeknight dinner or a special occasion, this baked salmon recipe is simple, healthy, and satisfying.
