This modern lighthouse is a 6-story structure with a gallery or viewing deck located on the fifth floor. The location was specifically chosen because it holds significant historical value. It is the very site where the first lighthouse of Basco was built. In addition to its role as a guiding light for seafarers, the site also housed the telegraph facilities during the American period. These facilities connected Batanes to the central government, aiding in communication across the archipelago. Unfortunately, these facilities were destroyed by the bombings of the Japanese Imperial Army at the start of World War II.
