Here’s a breakdown of our expenses for our spontaneous Baguio-La Union trip from February 14 to 16, for two people. We didn’t set a specific budget, as we wanted the trip to be laid-back and stress-free. Since we didn’t plan everything in advance, our spending was more flexible, allowing us to enjoy the experience without worrying too much about costs. However, looking back, there are a few tips that could have helped us save some money. We’ll share some of those insights below, which could help others plan a more budget-friendly trip while still having a relaxing time.

  • Php 1,200 (600 each) Genesis bus from Cubao to Baguio
  • Php 101.00 From SM Baguio to Sisko Inn – You can walk or take a jeep going to teachers camp will be a much cheaper option.
  • Php 330 Dinner We could just has one order and share it. The servings of Pork Sisig and Beef Mami is genearous. Please the fact that they have free soup and free refill.

  • Php 400 (200 each) Van (UV express) from Baguio terminal to  ELYU San Fernando – I think we got a good deal on this one since we didn’t have to wait for the bus schedule. We were able to leave Baguio right away.
  • Php 350 (for 2) Dinner at Herbs N Spice in San Juan La Union – Honestly I did not enjoy the food. I suggest eat somewhere else.
  • Php 1280  Turtle beach bar we just has a a tower Lychee Margarita Cocktail and 1 order of Pork Sisig. They have live bands and the Sisig was good, Perfect for pulutan or with rice. This is optional kung gusto niyong magwalwal.

  • Php 370 (for 2) Elyao frozen yougurt. If you love llaollao, you’ll enjoy this one like I did.
  • Php 100  Tricycle special trip from San Juan going back to Boondocks Cabins Resort – You can walk or if your in a group it’s just 20 pesos each. We just had to take a tricycle because this is day time and the sun is at it;s pick.

  • Php 300 (for 2) Dinner at Palasyo ni Dexter – I really enjoyed the ambiance here—it’s quiet and somewhat hidden. While some people didn’t like the food, I personally enjoyed the daing na bangus during my visit. It was a peaceful and pleasant dining experience.

  • Php 500 before we went back to the resort I bough some drinks and chips so we can continue drinking there.
  • Php 728 Brunch at Elyu Inasal + 2 Fruit shakes – The food there good. You must visit.
  • Php 100 Tricycle from San Juan to Bus terminal – There are buses from Ilocos going to manila  that passes by in from of 7/11 if you are willing to wait specially on off-pick hours you can just wait here and they can pick you up.
  • Php 150 Tricycle special trip  to going  Viron terminal –  There are buses from Ilocos going to manila  that passes by in from of 7/11 if you are willing to wait specially on off-pick hours you can just wait here and they can pick you up. We just have to go to the terminal since it past noon and there’s no waiting shed where we can stay.
  • Php 1,148 (for 2) Viron bus from San Fernando to Manila.

That’s all from me! You can definitely enjoy Baguio and La Union even on a budget. However, when visiting La Union, expect to spend a bit more, especially on food. There are always more affordable options available, so it really depends on your preferences and cravings during the trip. Whether you’re looking to splurge or save, there’s something for everyone.
